Your Guide to LAMDA Acting Exams (And How to Get Started in Chislehurst)

Thinking about LAMDA exams but not sure where to begin? Here's your step-by-step guide to how LAMDA Acting exams work and how your child can get started with us in Chislehurst.

What Is a LAMDA Acting Exam?

LAMDA Acting exams give students the opportunity to perform monologues or duologues from published plays. They’re assessed on interpretation, vocal clarity, movement, and understanding of the text.

There are grades for every level:

  • Introductory Stage (for our youngest learners)

  • Grades 1–5 (building skills and technique)

  • Grades 6–8 (advanced work that earns UCAS points)

How Do Students Prepare?

At Vibe Arts, students work 1-to-1 with a LAMDA coach, choosing pieces that suit their age, ability and interests. Lessons focus on performance, but also on analysis, character development and communication.

They also have access to our TutorBird platform, where they can:

  • Practise with digital scripts

  • Upload videos for feedback

  • Receive home tasks

  • Access performance resources

Where Do Exams Take Place?

Most of our students take their exams at LAMDA Drama School in London, though we sometimes use other centres. We organise the booking and give you full details well in advance.

Can We Try Before We Commit?

Yes! We offer paid Saturday trial sessions in Chislehurst so your child can try out a LAMDA session before signing up for the term. Book your trial here.
