Not always. Grouping is based on what will best support each child's development, though we always take sibling considerations into account where appropriate.

Is Main School suitable for beginners?

Yes. Many students join Main School with little or no prior training. Our classes are designed to stretch confident performers while remaining accessible to beginners.

Do students need to attend every week?

Regular attendance is strongly encouraged, as skills build week-to-week. However, we understand that occasional absences happen. Missed sessions are non-refundable.

What is LAMDA?

LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) is a prestigious UK drama school and awarding body offering speech and drama qualifications. Their graded exams help learners develop confidence, communication, and performance skills.

Do LAMDA grades count towards UCAS points?

Yes — Grades 6, 7, and 8 (Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medal) carry UCAS points, which can support university applications.

What happens if a session falls on an INSET day or school trip?

We’ll always try to avoid clashes with planned school events. However, it’s your responsibility to inform us of any known absences as early as possible so we can try to reschedule.

What syllabi do you offer?

Most of our schools offer Introductory and Acting syllabi. Some also offer Speaking Verse & Prose, Speaking in Public, or Musical Theatre. The syllabi offered vary by school and are confirmed at registration.

What if we decide to discontinue LAMDA coaching?

If you decide to stop LAMDA coaching at any point, we ask that you complete our Vibe Arts Notice Form. Notice must be given before the end of the current term to avoid being charged for the following term, as our coaches are confirmed and scheduled in advance.

Notice given after the term has ended will not be accepted, and fees for the next term will still apply.

Will my child always have the same coach?

We aim to keep coaching consistent, but in rare cases a change may be necessary. All Vibe Arts coaches are experienced, DBS-checked, and receive thorough handovers when students move between tutors.

What is expected at home?

Students should regularly practise at home. This may include memorising pieces, developing character choices, and preparing for knowledge questions. Parents/guardians are expected to support this where possible.

What should my child bring to each session?

• Printed exam piece(s)
• Printed knowledge sheets
• Notebook and pen/pencil

How are sessions structured?

Most sessions are one-to-one, though some small group work may take place. Sessions cover performance work, character development, theory, and knowledge questions tailored to the student’s current grade.

When are invoices issued and how do I pay?

Invoices are sent out shortly before the start of each term. Full payment is required in advance unless a payment plan has been agreed. You can pay securely online via the link provided in your invoice.

What is TutorBird?

TutorBird is our platform for lesson notes, calendar, resources, and progress tracking. You can log in to TutorBird here.

What happens if my child misses a session?

Missed sessions are not refunded or rescheduled. Please notify us in advance where possible.

How do I contact my child’s coach?

The best way is to use the Study Log feature in TutorBird to share practice, ask questions, or upload videos. For other queries (e.g. billing or exams), email mail@vibearts.co.uk.

Can my child have their own TutorBird login?

Yes – just email mail@vibearts.co.uk with your child’s email and the subject “TutorBird Student Access.” This is free of charge. Student accounts do not show billing info.

How will I receive lesson notes?

Lesson Notes are emailed to you and uploaded to TutorBird. They summarise what was covered, tasks for next time, and any attached resources.

When will my child be ready for an exam?

Our tutors follow LAMDA’s recommended Guided Learning Hours and monitor each student’s progress. We do not enter students for an exam automatically each term — only when they are fully prepared and confident.

How do I book my child’s exam?

Once a student is ready, you’ll receive an email with the earliest recommended exam date. You’ll then complete a booking form on the Vibe Arts website, choose a preferred weekend date, and pay online. We handle the rest.

Can I choose the exam time?

No – LAMDA assigns the time, usually confirmed two weeks before the exam. Exam slots are between 9:30am–5:30pm on Saturdays or Sundays.

Where do exams take place?

Most students take their exam at LAMDA, Barons Court. Where needed, we may offer local public centres (this will be made clear in your booking email).

If your child is part of a LAMDA for All programme at their school, exam arrangements are different for each school, so your school will confirm where and when. In some LAMDA for All schools the examiner visits the school and the exams take place on site.

Does everyone pass the exam?

While we’re proud to maintain a 100% pass rate, this is never guaranteed. Students are only entered when they are ready and prepared to succeed.

What if my child is unwell on the day of the exam?

If your child cannot attend due to illness, injury, or bereavement, you may apply directly to LAMDA for a 50% credit within 10 working days. Vibe Arts cannot apply on your behalf.

What if my child loses their certificate?

Replacement certificates can be ordered directly from LAMDA. Fees apply and are handled by LAMDA, not Vibe Arts.

What happens after the exam?

Unless we hear otherwise, students will automatically move on to the next appropriate grade. If your child is not continuing, please let us know before the new term starts. Full term fees apply, even if a student withdraws partway through.

When will we receive results and certificates?

A digital results PDF will be emailed within 30 working days of the exam. The certificate (if the student passed) will be given to the student in their session/at the school once received by post.
