Samuel Richards

Singing Teacher

Samuel is an emerging conductor, musical director and singer working across both classical and musical theatre genres.


Born in London, Samuel began his musical education as a chorister with the choir of the Queen's Chapel of the Savoy before going on to receive a place at the junior department of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. He studied classical vocal performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and continued his education at Royal Holloway, University of London. Samuel currently studies conducting with internationally renowned conductor Peter Stark. 


A conductor of extraordinary versatility, his work spans a wide array of genres, including operatic, symphonic, choral and musical theatre repertoire. He currently holds the position of Assistant Conductor of the Royal Holloway Symphony Orchestra and was recently Musical Director for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells). An alumnus of the National Youth Music Theatre, Samuel held the position of Assistant Musical Director for the NYMT's world premiere production of the new musical Henrietta. 


Beyond the podium, Samuel is a highly experienced choral singer, having previously held a choral scholarship with the London Youth Chamber Choir. He has performed at some of the country’s most prestigious concert halls including the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Festival Hall and alongside world-renowned orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Band of the Household Cavalry. Samuel has also had the honour of performing for her late majesty, Queen Elizabeth II at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. 

 

Alongside his work as a performer, Samuel ardently champions music education and the cultivation of young talents. With a wealth of experience teaching music within educational settings, he wholeheartedly commits himself to unlocking the potential of children, fostering their confidence, and igniting a lifelong passion for music and the arts. Samuel's mission as singing teacher at Vibe Arts is to empower budding performers, guiding them to unearth their distinctive voices and enabling them to express themselves with unwavering assurance.
